President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that situation with counting votes upon the results of extraordinary elections to Verkhovna Rada on 26 October is unacceptable. ‘Almost 10 days have passed after elections, still 15 election poll stations in the division # 59 block finalizing the overall electronic preliminary vote counting, - he said. – This is unacceptable’.
According to him, slowing down vote counting negatively influences evaluation of elections, informs press service of the Head of state.
As mentioned in the press service, the Chairman of the Central Election Commission (hereafter, CEC) Mikhail Ohendovskyi while giving a speech at the meeting said that work on vote counting in the division #59 in Donetsk region remains blocked. ‘At the stage of vote counting and establishing results at the certain districts we faced with problems which the Central Elections Commission cannot handle without support of the law enforcement agencies,’ – he said, having remarked that the Commission still has not received the protocols of 19 divisional election committee for establishing results at the national multi mandate division.
The Chairman of the CEC expressed hope that with a help of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Security Service of Ukraine in the near future the Commission will be able to work without exterior pressure and receive all the protocols. In his turn, the Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov stated that the Commission will be able to restore its work by evening. At the meeting were present the Chairman of Verkhovna Rada Aleksandr Turchinov, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk, General Prosecutor Vitaliy Yarema, Chairman of Security Service Valentyn Nalyvaichenko.
Division # 59 at the place Velikaya Novoselka of Donetsk region is the last place from where no full data on voting results of elections to Verkhovna Rada on 26 October was received. Since the last Monday the premise of the committee was blocked by a group of armed people. According to the information of Ukrainian mass media, representatives of ‘Pravyy sektor’, battalion ‘Dnepr-1’, militia and Security Service of Ukraine are located near the premise of the committee. Power at the premise of the committee was cut, thus no connection and possibility to enter data from the divisional election committee into the system ‘Elections’. Currently the Chairman of the CEC Mikhail Ohendovskyi holds a meeting with the representatives of the law enforcement agencies attempting to find options to unblock the work of the committee.
According to the law, the CEC must establish election results by 10 November. At the moment 99.93 % votes have been counted at the national multi mandate division and 198 one mandate election divisions.
